Discover the Magic
At Wolperdinger Bookends, we believe in creating and sustaining a dynamic place. A place where readers and writers can always experience, share and discover the magic, wonder, intrigue and happiness of books.
Wolperdinger Bookends is a traditional community bookstore offering new books, merchandise and programs for all AGES and all STAGES. But more than this, it offers a space for patrons to experience the magic, wonder, intrigue and happiness of books. And it all starts with the name… A wolperdinger is a mythical hybrid creature who lives in the Bavarian Forest. In considering a unique yet appropriately descriptive name for a place filled with books, wolperdinger fit perfectly. And, of course, we also have a fun assortment of bookends.

"The Day the World Came to Town, 9/11 in Gander, Newfoundland"
by Jim DeFede
Having the very first book discussion pick for our very first book discussion, felt a bit consequential. Add to this that the date fell SO NEAR TO 9/11, and well, I needed to be even more thoughtful. After carefully reviewing a multitude of books that were available on this world changing topic, I settled on one that I felt best represented not only myself, but also Wolperdinger Bookends.
This is a true story of how hope and pride and love prevailed over a dark day. More importantly, it is a story about the power of community, making it the PERFECT first book discussion pick. Thank you for welcoming our store into an amazing community. -Kathy
